Beginning in 2012, International Arts Education Week has been designated by UNESCO and aims to increase the international community’s awareness on the importance of arts education and reinforces its co-operation by promoting cultural diversity, intercultural dialogue, and social cohesion.

This year, Creative Generation, the World Alliance for Arts Education and its members, alongside UNESCO are celebrating the week alongside the global arts education community to acknowledge the important role arts education plays in the lives of children and youth, families, and communities during and beyond the COVID-19 pandemic.

Together, the global arts education community will be celebrating through the social media campaign using #ArtsEdWeek and #ArtsUniteUs, learning together through a series of nine webinars being produced by WAAE and its members, and sharing their work through the WAAE Virtual Space and with UNESCO.
